SIEMENS BUILDING TECHNOLOGIES,
Buffalo Grove, IL 1994-2009 Principal Mechanical
Engineer R&D Design Expertise
- Proficient in numerous CAD programs, PTC Pro-E Wild Fire solid modeling (19 years), Siemens PLM NX Unigraphics solid modeling (3 years), Solidworks
- Extensive experience in design of plastic / sheet metal housings for electronics, valves, actuators, tooling and prototyping.
- Numerous Awards: Technical Achievements, Top+ Asset Management, Innovations, (Asset Management award returned $134 million in the first 3 years on $258,500 investment).
- Champion of product cost reductions and cost effective solutions for migration of retired products, redesign of one migration solution reduced unit cost by more than 60% to provide annual savings of $220,000.
- Key role in selection of toolmakers and molders. Orchestrated both mechanical/tool design reviews applying feasible tool design practice. Identified critical aspects of tooling.
- Worked closely with vendors to develop tooling and components.
- Identified requirements for regulatory agency (UL) prior to project start.
Leadership - Project Manager Experience
